Reading to a therapy dog can help a child overcome their anxiety when learning to read. It helps build confidence and makes the practice more fun. To register for your 15-minute time slot to read to JB the therapy dog, call the Colonial Heights branch by Monday, February 5th at 423-239-1100.
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program aims to get children and families reading together! For every 100 books read, participants will receive a book to keep from SCPL. To redeem your prize, turn in a completed 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten sticker sheet at any branch library.
Participants may sign up online or in the library.
