TCAP Tests are fast approaching, get some reading practice in a fun and relaxed environment with JB the therapy dog. JB will be available from 3:00Pm- 4:00pm for 15-minute appointments for your child to practice reading to a patiently listening dog. Reading to a therapy dog has been shown to improve reading confidence and calm anxiety. Make your appointment by calling the Colonial Heights branch at 423-239-1100 by Monday, March 18.
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program aims to get children and families reading together! For every 100 books read, participants will receive a book to keep from SCPL. To redeem your prize, turn in a completed 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten sticker sheet at any branch library.
Participants may sign up online or in the library.
