Show us your furry friend for our virtual pet parade!
May is National Pet Month! Celebrate our four legged friends by participating in our free Cutest Pet Contest. Take a photo of one or more of your pets (one photo per household) and submit it to our contest. Contest will be online and in-branch. To submit your photo online email it to suzanne.huron@scpltn.org with your home branch listed in the email. We’ll make sure your photo gets placed on the display at your branch. OR bring a 4×6 print of your photo by your closest branch in-person to add to our contest display and we’ll put it online for you. Each branch will have a winner voted on by the patrons – winner will be featured on the branch’s June book mark and you will receive a sheet of bookmarks to give to friends or family. Branch winners will be determined by in-person votes. There will also be an All Branch Winner – the pet photo with the highest combination of in-person and online votes from all 5 branches will receive a gift basket. Voting begins on May 6th when the album is uploaded and Photo displays are put up. Photos will be added as they come in. One photo submission per household, the earlier you submit your photo the more time you have to get votes. The last day to submit a photo is May 27th. Voting ends on May 30th. Winners will be announced on May 31st.
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program aims to get children and families reading together! For every 100 books read, participants will receive a book to keep from SCPL. To redeem your prize, turn in a completed 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten sticker sheet at any branch library.
Participants may sign up online or in the library.
