To celebrate African American History month we will read and discuss the works of essential African American poets. We will read and talk about: Langston Hughes-Theme for English B; Gwendolyn Brooks-The Children of the Poor; and Maya Angelou- And Still I Rise
Patrons are encouraged to bring their own favorite poems by African American writers to share and discuss with the group. No cost for program. The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program aims to get children and families reading together! For every 100 books read, participants will receive a book to keep from SCPL. To redeem your prize, turn in a completed 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten sticker sheet at any branch library.
Participants may sign up online or in the library.
