This is a beginner’s art history class for homeschool students in the 8-12 age group. Each week we will introduce kids to a new artist, their work and the time period they lived in. We’ll also do art of our own inspired by what we’ve seen.
This week we will be introduced to:
Wassily Kandinsky – A Russian painter and art theorist. Generally credited as one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art.
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program aims to get children and families reading together! For every 100 books read, participants will receive a book to keep from SCPL. To redeem your prize, turn in a completed 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten sticker sheet at any branch library.
Participants may sign up online or in the library.
